Akleema is a bright, loving, and active young girl who experiences the world in her own unique way. She is autistic and nonverbal, and she communicates through her actions, routines, expressions, and interactions with the people she trusts.

She enjoys skating, riding her bicycle, creating with clay dough, memorizing du'as, spending time with friends, and exploring new experiences.

These activities are more than ways to pass the time. They provide opportunities for Akleema to practice skills, build confidence, develop relationships, express herself, and participate in her community.

Friendships are especially meaningful in her life. Through shared activities, encouragement, and positive peer interactions, she has opportunities to observe, participate, and develop social connections.

Akleema's World was created to celebrate her journey, encourage her development, and help provide access to meaningful experiences and appropriate support.

Water safety is an especially important priority for Akleema.

Autistic children can face increased risks around water, particularly when they have difficulty recognizing danger or communicating when they need help. The CDC identifies drowning as a leading cause of death among autistic children who die from injuries.

For Akleema, learning water safety and developing swimming skills with qualified instruction and appropriate supervision are important goals.
